At Pearl Hyde, there is a real buzz around Science. We are passionate about teaching Science because we know how many doors it can open for children! We are one of the only primary schools with our very own ‘Phizz Lab’ A specialist Laboratory we have built for practical Science, we certainly do a lot of experiments! Our Curriculum
Pearl Hyde is a one-and-a-half-form entry school, children work in mixed-age classes for some subjects and science is one of them. There are many studies to show that mixed-age classes are extremely beneficial for children particularly their vocabulary acquisition and therefore language development. Please see below how we teach our Science curriculum on a 2-year rolling cycle to accommodate this.
