From September 2023, we are re-introducing a standard school uniform and ask children to come to school wearing;
-Grey school trousers, shorts, skirts or skorts with black school shoes or trainers (Trainers with no obvious bright logos. Brightly coloured laces are not permitted). If your child is unable to tie laces please provide them with footwear with a Velcro fastening.
-Pearl Hyde or plain sky blue polo shirt and navy jumper/cardigan/fleece.
-On the days the children have their timetabled PE lessons, they are expected to wear their PE Kit in place of school uniform. These dates will be given to you at the start of the school year, depending on which year group your child is in.
-When it is not a PE day, children will be expected to wear the standard uniform.
-Jewellery or make-up is not permitted with the exception of a watch; children with pierced ears may wear one sleeper or stud in the lobe of each ear. Exceptions will be made for those children who have to wear religious adornments as long as they adhere to the health and safety policy. Jewellery needs to be removed on the days of PE and swimming, if these cannot be removed please can they be covered.
-Parents are asked to ensure children’s hairstyles are appropriate for school. Extremes of hairstyle including bright colours, tramlines and shaved heads are not permitted.
-For safety reasons, all long hair needs to be tied back with a blue or black bobble. Plain black or blue headbands may also be worn.
-Parents of all children are asked to ensure that all uniform and PE Kit is clearly named.
–NON-SCHOOL UNIFORM BIRTHDAYS
As the weather becomes colder please ensure your child has a warm, waterproof coat, gloves, hat and scarf.
Lunchtime Arrangements
At lunchtime children may bring a packed lunch in a suitable container, secure and clearly marked with their name. We encourage children to eat healthily and would ask parents to support us in this task by ensuring your child’s packed lunch is nutritious and contains a balance of foods needed for a healthy diet.
Alternatively, a hot meal is available at a cost of £2.75 per day. Aspens provides the school meal service for Pearl Hyde.
During the lunch break, the children are supervised by our team of Lunchtime Supervisors. Children are expected to behave sensibly and orderly during the lunchtime sessions.
Dinner Money Payment Information
Dinner money should be paid in advance either weekly or as far in advance as you prefer. You may use the school’s online payment service https://app.parentpay.com/public/client/security/v2/#/login, pay by cheque (payable to Pearl Hyde School) or by cash. The online service is our preferred method of payment as it is the safest and quickest. You will not have to pay an additional fee.
You are able to check your child’s balance online so reminders will not necessarily be sent. If you owe for more than 3 dinners you may be requested to send in packed lunches from home until the debt has been settled.

Menu
The school menu rotates on a three-week basis and refreshes for Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer seasons.
How school meals can support your child’s diet
All children need a nutritious, balanced meal to grow and meet their full potential.
School meals need to be compliant with the School Food Standards. These were created to help children develop healthy eating habits and ensure that they get the energy and nutrition they need across the whole school day. Therefore, parents should be able to trust that the school’s menu has been developed based on scientific nutrition research.
